I met Mikaela once we’ve arrived in Lisbon. She was discovering colourful corners of Lx Factory with one of her friends. A small charming girl with a warm smile, sparkling eyes and silky smooth skin – I just had to ask her for a shooting.. 🙂

Today’s morning started very early around 4:30AM and was drowned in tears. My husband took a taxi to airport back to Munich because of his job and left me absolutely alone at least till September here in Lisbon, in a city full of colourful houses, tiny streets, low-flying airplanes, noisy seagulls and endless coastline. I had to pinch myself several times just to make sure that I’m not dreaming and this is really happening. We’re together more than 10 years (since school) therefore to be separated for such a long period is really challenging. I was accustomed to him being always next to me and now I’m completely alone in a new city, new apartment, in front of myself and all my fears.
For as long as I can remember I was always interested in unique and creative fashion brands. Although I lived in a very small country (Lithuania) that didn’t stop me from searching beautiful handmade pieces from all over the world. While others gave a priority to famous well known fashion brands I was always more interested in a story telling, uniqueness, attention to the details and sincerity. I liked to imagine that with each of those carefully handmade pieces I was also receiving a lot of love and a slice of that part of the world, it’s culture and vibes. LES.BASICS is definitely one of those kind of brands. I found them very accidentally on Instagram and fell in love from the first sight. But about my love and thoughts in the next post and now let’s meet Frederique Lessard, a founder of LES.BASICS.
“We are the music-makers, / And we are the dreamers of dreams, / Wandering by lone sea-breakers / And sitting by desolate streams; / World losers and world forsakers, / On whom the pale moon gleams: / Yet we are the movers and shakers / Of the world for ever, it seems…” – Arthur O’Shaughnessy
